Notts top the table after win over Warwickshire
By Steve Williams
April 21 2003
After the first round of matches, Nottinghamshire head the Division 1 County Championship table after taking 20 points from the win against Warwickshire at Trent Bridge today.

Victory did not come without a late scare though, as the visitors fought back after lunch. Bicknell (81) and Pietersen (54) had taken the score to 209 with some careful play, before Betts struck 4 times in quick succession. This left Notts still needing 45 to win with only 3 wickets remaining, but Read and Franks ensured no further scares.

This was a good win over the team that lost only twice last season when finishing runners-up. Nottinghamshire's next home game is the NCL match against Derbyshire on Bank Holiday Monday, May 5th.
