Whatmore is an Australian, and is especially looking forward to facing his home nation in the Natwest Series! He used to coach Lancashire. The new young talent that has been brought into the squad promises to be interesting and the Bangladesh Cricket Board hope that this talent will influence their chances in the next World Cup in 2007. The three newcomers in the squad are pace bowler Shahadat Hossain, middle-order batsman Shahriar Nafees Ahmed and reserve wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim.
