Match Report Day 4:

Lancashire sealed their second win of the Championship season with a comfortbale win on the last day against Leicestershire.

Resuming five wickets down, there was little resistance from the visitors lower order as Lancashire's spinners wrapped up the tail with ease.

Carl Hooper was the star, finishing with 5-52, leaving Lancashire with just 24 runs to complete the win.

Day 3:

It was Lancashire two spinners, Gary Keedy and Carl Hooper that caused the damage as the Foxes stared defeat in the face going into the last day.

Despite a delayed start, the visitors first innings was polished off despite the best efforts of Darren Maddy and Darren Stevens, with Glen Chapple's 3 wickets proving vital.

The run out of overseas batsman Virender Sehwag didn't help matters as they lost 5 second innings wickets before the close.

Day 2:

Lancashire added 293 runs in two sessions before declaring at tea and getting a decent bowl at Leicestershire who wobbled and lost 4 wickets before the close of play.

After Mark Chilton had notched his third century of the season, Stuart Law (82) continued his fine form, Carl Hooper (74) scored quickly and an unbeaten 71 from just 55 balls further improved Andrew Flintoff's fantastic average.

Peter Martin claimed two of the wickets to fall before the end of the day.

Day 1:

Having won the toss again, Warren Hegg decided he would let his strong batting line-up post a score and they didn't fail him during the first day's play at an outground this season.

Alec Swann was dropped from the side that beat Kent, and Iaian Sutcliffe returned after recovering from injury.

He returned to where he had left off before his lay off as he put on 104 for the first wicket with Mark Chilton. He was dismissed for 55, but there was no respite for the visiting attack as Mal Loye (53*) and Chilton (87*) put on an unbroken 106 before rain forced a premature close.
