The Enduro India Golf Day - Good Golf, Good Cause

Indian Road
By Alan Rowley
October 6 2002
Kirk Langley skipper Nick Campion has organised a golf day to raise money for a charity motorbike ride he is doing in February 2003. The event will be held at Allestree Park Golf Club on Friday November 1st 2002, and everyone is invited.

The event starts with a full English breakfast before playing 18 holes on the picturesque course. There are prizes for the winners as well as "Nearest The Pin" and "Longest Drive". The bar will be open all afternoon and the inclusive cost is £26 per person.

Proceeds will go to the Enduro India charity motorbike challenge in which Nick is taking part along with 150 others. He will be riding his Royal Enfield motorcycle across 2,500 kilometres of southern India's roughest terrain in 7 days. The aim of the Enduro India challenge is to raise £500,000 for four charities: The Pain & Palliative Care Society; The Rainbow Trust; Greenpeace and The World Wildlife Fund.

Nick told us: "I know lots of cricketers enjoy a bit of golf, so I have arranged a golf day to help raise funds. The more recruits to the golf day I can get, the better; there's all sorts of people with all sorts of handicaps already lined up - it should be an entertaining day."

To enter the golf day, please send a cheque for £26 to N Campion, 11 Duesbury Court, Mickleover, Derby, DE3 0UP. Also, please include your postal address or email address and phone number so more information on the Golf Day can be sent to you nearer the time. If you have any questions, call Nick Campion on 07958 695778.
