Trevor SmithAt the halfway stage there is nothing to choose between Ockbrook and Borrowash's Trevor Smith and Chesterfield's David Adams.

Former Derbyshire pace bowler Smith (pictured left), proved himself to be a top notch all-rounder for league runners-up Ockbrook and Borrowash in 2002. His 844 runs came at an average of 49.65 and his 44 wickets were achieved at 16.77 runs apiece.

A fierce hitter of the ball, Smith's performances earned him second place in the league's "Most Valuable Player" list, just behind Sandiacre's Naeem Akhtar.

David AdamsChesterfield skipper Adams (pictured right), also figures highly in the league's all-rounder list with his 719 runs scored at an average of 42.29. His 47 wickets came at a cost of 22.36 runs each. One of the more ambitious skippers on the circuit, Adams has great plans for his club in 2003.

Both these players would make deserving winners of the site's first ever Player of the Year award, but is it really a two-horse race? Quarndon's Gary Myers is still in touch with the leaders and could still spring a surprise.
