Alfie - bubbly kid
| Alfie's friends and family have been raising money since last September by organising health and beauty nights, a wine tasting evening, a Christmas bazaar and a car wash at the local fire station. They now need that final push to make Alfie's wish come true. Alfie's mum Alison told Sting: "Alfie is a normal boy who is obsessed by trains and cars. He likes swimming and is having regular lessons. He would also like a special trike as he is unable to ride a normal bicycle." Alfie is a bubbly young lad and is well-known in the area through his appearances in the local press and at Pride Park where he was mascot for the Norwich game. Alison said that he is booked into the Therapy Centre on November 7th for a course of treatment that will last for almost a month.
Alison also told us that Alfie has only academically developed to the level of a two year old, and can only communicate through sign language. He is being treated at the Ronnie McKeith Centre at Derbyshire Children's Hospital. Alison said: "I am very grateful to Sting In The Tail's readers for everything they are doing for Alfie. I hope to get the chance to thank you personally at the cricket match." If you want to help, either leave a message on the message board, or email Alan Rowley at alan@derbyshirecricket.info.
