Hathersage continued their ascent of the table by beating De La Salle. De La Salle made 166-7 (White 53), which was passed by Hathersage for the loss of five wickets with Rhodes (57) and Bruce (50 no) making significant contributions. Stanton In Peak cling to third place despite defeat against fellow chasers University Staff. Stanton scored 125-9 (Gladwin 47, Shepherd 4-54, Fairburn 4-34), which was passed by Staff's 129-4 (Kerry 65 no, Walker 4-37). Parkhead separate the two thanks to a narrow win over Sheffield Works Department. Parkhead posted 171-8 (Lee Stewart 5-47) and managed to dismiss SWD just one run short of their own total. Works made amends on Sunday by dismissing Dronfield Woodhouse for 174 (Richard Wells 46, David Drew 81, Brad Sampson 6-53) and reaching the victory target with three wickets to spare (Naylor 57). Woodhouse had their own success on Saturday, registering 226 (Parker 68, Hibbert 5-58) against Stocksbridge, who were sent back for 102 (Maskery 4-47). Old Edwardians / Collegiate made 130 at home to Baslow, with the prolific Michael Clegg taking 4-41. Baslow then completed a seven wicket victory. Holmesfield hit top spot in Division Two with a seven wicket triumph over Stocksbridge II, who they had earlier dismissed for just 45. The previous top two, Ashford and Grindleford, cancelled each other out in a drawn match. Grindleford made 138 (Outram 53, Wilson 5-39) and Ashford replied with 114-8 (Buchan 5-33). Millhouses dismissed Old Edwardians / Collegiate II for 87 (Heaven 5-36, Adeel 4-5) and moved into fourth spot with only three wickets down. Sheffield Works Department II were bowled out for 184 (Marples 44, Thistlethwaite 4-64, Ghose 4-50) which Parkhead II passed for the loss of five wickets (Warwick 42). Chesterfield Barbarians 110-5 was enough to see them to the win away at Bakewell, who had earlier made 109-7. Centralians II keep the lead in Division Three, despite defeat away at fellow challengers Calver. Calver posted an ominous 231-9 declared (Mundy 102, Howie 62, Verity 4-22). Cents reply was curtailed with the score on 141. Hathersage II were dismissed for 116 (Tom Green 4-53) and, in turn, sent back De La Salle II for 105 thanks to Kevn Rowney's 6-40 to claim second place. University Staff II passed Millhouses 170-9 (Hargreaves 51, Azhar 50) with one wicket in hand (Franklin 68 no) to maintain their position in the upper reaches of the table. Laycocks got back to winning ways by dismissing Dronfield Sports II for 133 (Myers 65, Scothern 4-31). Jewitt (41) guided them to the winning post with one wicket to spare, despite 6-46 from Sport's Marsh. Dronfield Woodhouse II made 155-9 (Parker 83) and then rolled over Calow for just 68. Richland Wanderers took over the lead in Division Four by virtue of beating previous leaders BT Pensions / AGD I. The Wanderers dismissed Pensions for just 70 and gained a five wicket victory. Joining Richland at the top are Ridgeway, who scored an emphatic win over Transport. Batting first, Ridgeway declared at 236-8 (Walker 42, Keys 91, Lewis 4-61). Keys capped a fine game by taking 4-51 to dismiss Transport for 114, despite a battling 47 from Bullimore. Baslow II kept in touch with the leading group by registering 224-8 declared (Jim Ferguson 83, Ashley Kirk 40) at home to BT Pensions / AGD II. Ferguson (4-9) then combined with Richard Beresford (4-7) to send the Chesterfield side to a 187 run defeat. Zingari made 212-8 (Nunnington 47, Harris 63 no, McGoverne 4-49) at home to Great Longstone, who could only manage 78 (Smallwood 4-37) in reply. Coal Aston made 116
away at Chesterfield Barbarians II, who in turn were dismissed for 91
(Andy Wood 5-33). Stocksbridge III scored a first victory of the season
by bowling out Calow for exactly 100 (Von Wurzbach 6-30, Newton 3-9),
which they passed with four wickets down (Redwood 25, Harris 38). |
