Hundall extended their lead at the top of Division One to 36 points despite being held to a close fought draw by Sheffield Works Department.

Hundall made 205-9 from their 46 overs with important innings from Chris Pursehouse (51) and Martin Dawson (45). Works replied with 179-8 (Woods 66) to gain valuable points in their bid to get out of the lower reaches of the table.

Parkhead continued their good form of recent weeks with victory over Hathersage to assume second place. Parkhead's formidable 261-8 (Bowers 89, Heyes 63) was beyond the home side, who were dismissed for 147 (L.Woolway 47 no). De La Salle climbed to fourth with victory over the previous weeks second placed side, Stanton In Peak. Stanton were bowled out for 168 (Hadfield 56) which De La Salle passed for the loss of six (James Hartley 50).

Baslow had the best of the mid-table clash with University Staff, making 150-9. Staff held out for the draw at 95-9 with Dave Needham 64 not out. Dave Seal took 5-33 to dismiss strugglers Stocksbridge for 91 and see Old Edwardians / Collegiate to a three wicket win. Bottom side Dronfield Woodhouse could only manage 58 (Walker 5-6) but managed to take eight Centralians wickets (Womble 4-20) before an inevitable defeat.

Holmesfield opened up a 24 point gap at the top of Division Two with a win at home to Chesterfield Barbarians. Dave Ward's 67 not out guided Holmesfield to 170 all out (Sharman 5-40, Roberts 5-66) and he then claimed 3-7 to dismiss the Barbs for 124 (Marriott 51). Grindleford gained a share of second place with a narrow win over Sheffield Works Department II. Works were bowled out for 103 (Bateman 6-27) and the Derbyshire side edged to a one wicket victory despite 6-29 from Dan Rodger.

Ashford In the Water had to settle for the draw at 100-9 in reply to Parkhead II's 160 (Turner 46). Millhouses climbed one place to fourth with a comprehensive win over Bakewell. Dave Adams (47) led Millhouses to 187-9 (Woodruff 5-57) and Akeel Sarwar (4-6) contributed to Bakewell's dismissal for just 73. Wayne Lazenby (86), Bob Kenny (53) and Tony Siddall (46) saw Stocksbridge II to 204-3 against bottom side Old Edwardians / Collegiate II, who were rolled over for 72 (James Ward 4-31).

Centralians kept on top of Division Three with a win over Dronfield Woodhouse II. Woodhouse made 179-8 (Parker 62, Staniforth 47 no, Kennedy 4-50) which was passed by Cents with four wickets to spare (Bob Schofield 70 no, John Bridgett 4-41). Calver declared for the third time in succession, this time at 236-6 (Hilton 66, Howie 63, Burnett 58) and bowled out Calow for 157, despite a combative 78 from Smith.

Hathersage II moved into third by skittling Laycocks for 54 (Smith 5-22) and replying with 58-6 (Scanlan 4-26). Dronfield Sports II 166-5 (Turner 51, Spooner 42) wasn't enough to prevent a five wicket defeat by Hundall II (Keeley 63). De La Salle passed Millhouses II 123-8 (Searle 58) with two wickets in hand, despite 4-33 from Azhar.

A four way battle still ensues at the top of Division Four. Richland Wanderers stay top with a last ball one wicket win over Coal Aston, who had earlier made 95-9 (Eke 50, Pashley 5-45). Ridgeway stay second with a six wicket win over Calow, who were dismissed for 75 (Lee Keys 4-13, Peter Evans 5-36).

Zingari were restricted to 101-9 (Jamie Horton 4-31) by BT Pensions / AGD I, who remain in third place thanks to a seven wicket win. Younis (4-17) and Baxter (4-11) combined to dismiss Baslow II for 110 but then saw their Sheffield Transport side rolled over for just 57. Stocksbridge III made 160-6 (Derek Redwood 69) away at Chesterfield Barbarians II, who were bowled out for 81 (Fields 4-37).

In the Knockout Cup quarter finals, Hundall were dismissed for 154 (Pitcher 69, Baptiste 4-19) by University Staff, who romped to an eight wicket victory thanks to Needham (90 no) and Nichol (45). Sheffield Works Department made an imposing 241-7 (Woods 75, Summerhill 46) against Richland Wanderers, who could only manage 100 in reply. Holmesfield bowled out Stocksbridge for 93 and gained a comfortable seven wicket win. Parkhead progressed due to a forfeit by Coal Aston.
