Baslow posted a competent 187-6 (T.Campbell 52, S.Madina 49) but David Drew (73) guided Woodhouse home with four wickets in hand. Old Edwardians / Collegiate improved their standing by making 179 (P.Hardy 57) at home to fourth placed University Staff. Staff were then sent back for 114 (R.Hibbert 40, A.Gibson 4-25). Sheffield Works Department continued their good batting form with 245-7 (Simon Pass 75, Richard Everitt 58) but couldn't dismiss third placed De La Salle, who closed on 161-7 (McLeave 53). Centralians improved their chances of escape with victory against Parkhead. Parkhead made 178-6 (Brown 55, Welton 42, Reichwald 44 no, Walker 4-67) which Cents passed with six wickets down (Marshall 60, Bowers 4-55). Stanton In Peak keep their second place despite going down for 113 (Smith 6-26) against Hathersage, who had earlier scored 140-9 (Gladwin 5-34). Holmesfield secured their promotion to the top flight and require the formality of a single point to be crowned Division Two champions. They amassed a huge 365-2 declared (James Pearson 114 no, Tom Hamilton 136 no, Tom Youngs 89) against already-relegated Old Edwardians / Collegiate II, who replied with 94 (James Pearson 5-9). Saturday's clash between Ashford In The Water and Grindleford will help decide who joins Holmesfield in Division One. Second placed Ashford are in the driving seat after gaining a four wicket win over Chesterfield Barbarians, who they dismissed for 96 (Patrick Foster 5-5). Grindleford bowled out Stocksbridge II for 137 and recorded a seven wicket success of their own. Sheffield Works Department II require a further fourteen points to condemn Stocksbridge to Division Three. On Saturday, they scored 133-8 to attain the draw against Bakewell, who posted 194-8 (Chris Beech 72 no). Parkhead II's 168-9 (M.Rehman 5-47) was enough to secure victory over Millhouses, who were sent back for 154 (S.Hussain 43). The Division Three promotion race remains wide open, although Calver still appear to have the upper hand. At University Staff II, they made 184 (Bonsall 51, Howie 48, Hadley 4-65) and saw Jim Mundy (4-28) and Ian Hallowes (6-23) bowl them to a 105 run success. Hathersage II late run sees them move into second. They bowled out bottom club Millhouses II for 123 (Richard Mason 5-54) and cruised to a six wicket triumph (Ben Drury 72 no). Third placed Laycocks were dismissed for 145 (Paul Kennedy 7-50) but Roger Wainwright (5-40) maintained their challenge by skittling Centralians II for 93. Calow secured a draw against Hundall II to keep out of the relegation zone. Hundall registered 182-6 (I.Bayston 53, M.Allen 52) but saw Calow close on 135-7 (J.Smith 59, J.Allender 5-41). Dronfield Sports II remain favourites for the drop along with Millhouses II. Dronfield were dismissed for 135, which De La Salle II passed with seven wickets in hand (L.Green 54). Division Four remains the tightest division of all. Richland Wanderers have a slender eight point advantage over Ridgeway at the top. Richland posted 162-8 (Andy Robson 42 no, Danny McGoverne 4-64) away at Great Longstone, who were dismissed in turn for 91 (Mark Wilmott 5-43, Steve Brocklehurst 4-30). Ridgeway registered an imposing 250-9 (N.Byers 69, I.Hamilton 40, A.Jowitt 4-75) against Stocksbridge III, who capitulated for just 58. behind the leaders and two behind second placed Ridgeway. On Saturday,
they restricted Chesterfield Barbarians II to 120-8 and gained a narrow
one wicket victory. Bottom side Calow II made 153-9 (M.Brealey 56, N.Peace
6-35) away at fourth placed Coal Aston, who ran out victors by five wickets
(Barry Eke 62). BT Pensions / AGD II were bowled out for 88 (P.Cotterill
6-46) by Transport, who recorded a two wicket win despite 5-46 from Jamie
