Steve James at Colwyn Bay

Another 100
By Edward Hall
August 31 2002
Steve James this week continued his remarkable run scoring at Colwyn Bay. By scoring 184 in the drawn Championship match against Nottinghamshire, he has now scored 1221 runs in his 8 games at the Rhos ground.
James is most famous for hitting 309* against Sussex in 2000, the highest individual score by a Glamorgan player. But he has 4 other centuries to his name at the ground, all of which have been over 150. His record in full:

8 and 152* v Lancashire, 1992
10 and 32 v Durham, 1993
12 and 3 v Lancashire, 1994
6 and 84 v Middlesex, 1995
162 v Nottinghamshire, 1997
259* v Nottinghamshire, 1999
309* v Sussex, 2000
184 v Nottinghamshire, 2002

8 Matches
12 Innings
3 Not Outs
1221 Runs @ 135.67

Surely it is a good idea to keep the Rhos festival going just to see Sid rack up some more runs in the next few years.

James has become the first Glamorgan player to pass 1000 runs in the Championship this season (1111 & 52.9). His four hundreds have taken him to 41 FC centuries for the club, 11 short of the record. Matt Maynard has 45.
