The Durham side are one of only four Cricket Board sides left in the competition after the first two qualifying rounds. Durham CB were given a bye in the first round, and then beat Herefordshire at Darlington in the second round. If Glamorgan win, they will play at home against either Derbyshire or Kent CB in the next round.
Wales Minor Counties are no longer involved in the competition after being beaten by Cornwall.
The C&G Trophy is now the only major county knockout competition, after the scrapping of the Benson and Hedges Cup. With the current side, this could represent Glamorgan’s best chance of success in a long time, and with the draw, they should reach the last 8 at least.
In other news, Glamorgan won the MCC Spirit of Cricket Award for the second time running this season. It is an award voted for by the umpires.
