I bet my house on England losing the next test
By Sam Hathaway December 28 2006
And I don't think many will disagree with me after another, to put it lightly, poor performance. England bowled Australia out in the morning with Mahmood taking 4 wickets but it was Englands batsmen that disappointed yet again.

The aussies were all out for 419 with Symonds and Hayden with the big scores.

England were set for a tough task with a big lead made by the home side but Strauss and Cook didn't look too confident as McGrath and Lee opened the attack. Numerous balls flew past the edge of the bat but England lasted till lunch not out.

It was shortly after lunch when the bowlers started to get their rewards. Stuart Clarke got Cook out bowled after the left hander inside edged the ball onto his stumps. Bell closely followed being trapped LBW from the angry McGrath.

Pietersen had been moved up to four but was beaten by brilliant ball that moved back and through the gate.

Collingwood and Strauss battled on but both drove freely at Lee either side of tea. Flintoff followed and fell LBW from and angled in Clarke ball.

Mahmood and Harmison both fell from the magician Warne as he came up with his classic ball, the flipper, to trap them LBW.

Read managed 26 off 77 balls.

Monty was in and after recently winning 'Beard of the year' he was ready to win another award but in the shape of runs. He flicked a ball off his pads for four from Lee and drove Warne past mid-wicket for four. Anybody who has questioned his batting will now be seeing that he has a good technique. But despite the good technique he fell from a pacey ball from Lee edging to slip.

Hoggard was last to fall and the aussies celebrated their much deserved win.

Many will still wonder how England can be losing the series so convincingly 4-0 after just a year and half ago England retained the ashes. Can we blame it on injuries? Duncan Fletcher? Or are Australia just too good for us? There needs to be many questions answered after this series and i hope they are for the future of our teams success.

But i will leave you with the words that i am sick of saying, England lose again.
