Fletcher Resigns

Today came the news that most England fans were expecting, and some hoping to hear- coach Duncan Fletcher has resigned, and will leave his post following Saturday's final World Cup match with the West Indies.
Fletcher's position has been under threat since England's dismal winter tour to Australia, resulting in a 5-0 series loss. This followed a poor Champions Trophy, which left many fans wanting Fletcher to resign as One-Day coach. Fletcher got a brief respite following England's Commonwealth Bank Trophy win, but it was agreed that a poor World Cup would seal his fate. As it happened, England have struggled against all of the big sides, beating only Kenya, Canada, Ireland and Bangladesh. Academy director Peter Moores is likely to take over in a caretaker role, with the likes of Tom Moody and Dav Whatmore set to challenge Moores for the job on a fulltime basis
