After a 24 hour surveillance operation, police in Wisconsin swooped in and arrested a criminal mastermind of Lex Luthor proportions. Cops arrested Heidi Dalibor for.... failing to return her library books on time as part of a zero-tolerance policy after she ignored earlier fines of $38 - around £20. To make matters worse, she still had two overdue books in her possession. At the time, a senior police officer probably commented without elaborating, "We're going to throw the book at her." Heidi was clearly unhappy. "I think the whole handcuffing thing was a little extreme." Ironically, she was reading Markus Zusak's best seller, The Book Thief at the time of her arrest.
