Gale's new contract
By Richard Watts
November 29 2007
Andrew Gale has penned a new 3 year deal at Headingley, which will see him play his cricket for Yorkshire until at least the end of the 2010 season. The 23-year-old left-handed batsman who socred his usual pile of runs in the second X1 was a regular in Yorkshire one-day side in 2007.

Consistent runs in the 2nd Team saw him included in the Club's LV County Championship side towards the end of the season, a spot Andrew wants to secure for himself next summer: "Hopefully next year I can get a bit more exposure in the LV County Championship. With our overseas player being a bowler there is a place up for grabs in the middle order, so I am determined to come back to pre-season fighting fit and full of runs and ready for selection. I know I can fill that spot and do well."

Andrew continued, "I’m really enjoying my cricket with Yorkshire and delighted to sign this new deal. Martyn and Goughy have brought a lot more energy back into the Club and reignited the passion to put the white rose on and to be successful. I really enjoy playing under Goughy, we couldn’t ask for a better captain."
