THE ALLROUNDERS - Jacks of all trades and masters of what? Well some are good with the ball and some with the bat but a master of both? Well they are rare treasures indeed! Ian is one of them. A batsman of awesome power and a tight, deceptive and better slow bowler than many give him credit for. This is a really BIG season for him within the Somerset setup.

We rate Ian in Somerset. The international powers don't seem to see what we see.

As a batsman he can destroy an attack in a session with massive and devastating precision. 100 runs is always less than 100 balls away.

As a bowler he can stifle the opposition almost immediately and you assume that is all that he can do at your peril.

A possible future captain of the county but with something to prove this year after an awful injury kept him out for a season. Many believe he was playing within himself and taking few risks last season.

If he gets it together, who knows where things will take him. Maybe the ECWB will finally realise what is under their nose!!
