THE CAPTAINS - the "buck" stops here and the "buck" can be very hard to handle sometimes. Justin langer looked for this job and was the man for it at the time. A batsman of real pedigree and a man with a clear view of what he wants and how to get it.

We needed a hard, capable and 'lead from the front' captain and along came Justin Langer. Test batsmen extraordinaire, Ashes winner (and loser) and run making dynamo. 2008 may be his last year but it may also be Somerset's greatest because of him. He has stats coming out of heis ears and lives eats and breathes winning. Anyone who was at Trent Bridge last year when he was given out LBW in the Championship match heard and felt that. if we can't do it with him in charge, we probably can't do it! |
