It gave me great pleasure to have the opportunity to chat with one of my all time Middx heroes Keegan from boundary edge at Southgate. He provided an upbeat message about our prospects despite our lowly position.

 

 

BK.  Any plans of changing hairstyle?

CK   Happy with it, going to keep it same for while

 

BK How’s the injury?

CK Back fully cured. Groin is OK, just need a few games to try it out.  Unfortunately for tactical reasons I am unable to do that for this match.

BK.  What about operation on groin?

CK Providing no further hiccups I doubt will be necessary.   It will easier to judge when I play few more games.

 

BK How do you feel about our start to season?

CK. Frustrating.  We have a far better team to reflect our current position.  We also have a number of potential match winners

BK. Of which you are one?

CK. Modest smile.

 

BK. What do you think of rotation of bowlers system Embers wanted to introduce at beginning of season?

CK. In favour of it. But with Silvers on good form and Bettsy and Richo injured been difficult to follow through.

 

BK. How do you feel about rest of season?

Ck. We will improve. I am looking forward to Pro 40. I feel we performed superbly in 45 over league last year and am confident of success (note this was before Glam game)

 

BK. What's the morale of team like?

CK. High. Although disappointed about start of season there’s a lot of self-belief and we all got on really well.

 

BK. Are you going to be used as pinch hitter in 1-day games this year?

CK.  I enjoy batting anywhere, but my main role will be at end as death batter.

 

BK. Do you read our website?

CK. I do sometimes as do a number of players and family and is often talk of dressing room.

BK.  How do they feel about criticism?

CK. They expect it after poor games   But they accept it is due if they perform badly.

 

BK. So are we going to stay up?

CK. Definitely. We are too good to go down , and I am very confident of our player’s ability.

 

Interview closed. Chad conducted it with same enthusiasm as he shows on field.  While, he played a straight bat to the questions I believe his confidence was genuine       

And left me with a feel good factor.
