Bloomers blows it
By David Slater
July 6 2003
Middlesex lost to Lancashire today after a shocking display from Tim Bloomfield who went for 59 runs off 8 overs. Only a jammy run out, saved him from complete embaressment.
Earlier in the day a recovery from 60/4 to 154/5 from Nash (62) and Joyce (32) set Middlesex on their way to a good target. Razzaq and a returning Jamie Dalrymple put a impressive stand of 95 on to take the total to 255. Razzaq got 61 from 31 balls including a 6 into the top tier of the grand stand. Dalrymple hit 28 of 23.

The Lancashire innings started well for the Crusdaers but things went bad once Bloomers got into his 5th over. That went for 10, the next for 18. By the time he returned, the damage was done. Carl Hooper (88 not out) guided them home. Mal Loye hit 78 earlier on.
