Middlesex went top of the county championship today after their match with Lancashire ended in a draw and Kent's match against Gloucestershire was washed out. Lancashire delcared late on on 401/7. Middx were 41/0 when the captains agreed to call and end to the match. Middx top the table by 2 points.

Day 3:

A sensational bowling spell from Domonic Cork helped Lancashire's hopes of saving the match today as he took 7-120. Andy Strauss (95) was first out, with Keegan top scoring from the rest with 26. In reply, Lancashire made a solid start, reaching 128/1 at close.

Day 2:

Andy Strauss staked his claim for a place in the England test side finishing on 92 not out, only 36 hours after returning from the West Indies. Shah fell early on with Joyce following soon after but a stand 133 with Paul Weekes regained control, and Middx closed on 257/5, Nash (5*) also in.

Day 1:

5-36 from Chad Keegan was influencial in helping Middx bowl Lancs out for 236, putting Andy Strauss' men in full control of the match. Mal Loye hit 101. In reply Middlesex reached 78/2 from 18 overs. Shah (34*) and Joyce (32*) the men in when bad light called an early end to procedings.
