Middlesex won the toss and batted first. Weekes and Ed Smith made a superbe start before Smith was caught by Hussey off Ealham for 31. Next up was Owais Shah who added a solid 27 before Swann trapped him LBW. He was replaced by Scott Styris, who hit a typical Styris innings of 82 off 64, including four 4s and three 6s. During his spell Weekes departed to be replaced by Dalrymple who added an important 17. When Styris was caught on the boundary, it was left to Ed Joyce and Ben Hutton to finish off the innings. Joyce finished in style with 16 off the last three balls in a score of 41 off just 18 deliveries. Middlesex finishing on 314/5.
The Notts innings started well with Bicknell and Swann hitting out, but as the wickets fell the runs dried up, despite 82 from Patel and 45 from Read. The Outlaws were eventually all out for 283 in the last over. Weekes, Alan Richardson and Mel Betts each took two wickets, with Irfan Pathan and Scott Styris taking one each. There were also two run outs as Middlesex won by 31 runs.
