England Injury Worries Ahead of World Cup

After suffering a blow to his finger during practice, England captain Eoin Morgan is watching his side play out a warm up game with Australia in Southampton, with his good fingers firmly in front of his face, as more injury concerns are popping up.

Firstly Mark Wood was forced to leave the field after pulling up whilst bowling, although this looked more of a precautionary measure as he looked to leave the field in no discomfort, but straght afterwards, substitute fielder Joshua Archer went tumbling in the outfield and looked to get his studs caught in the turf, causing some conern over the faces of England's backroom staff.

Luckily, England's great hope for the World Cup, was back up and running about, but it led to some comedy moments afterwards, as fielding coach and England 'legend' Paul Collingwood came onto field.

Obviously, England were keen to avoid any more scares ahead of the South Africa opening game next week.

Morgan said of his injury yesterday "There's a very small fracture in there but I'm good to go," speaking to www.cricketworldcup.com, "I am going to miss the game tomorrow unfortunately but, as regards to the first game of the tournament, I should be fit to go. It's very good news,".

No game against the Aussies is a ‘warm up’ so can understand the players putting their bodies on the line.
