Lancashire are fair favourites, with both Blue Sqaure and William Hill. With Blue Sq they are 1/2 and with WH 4/9. Essex, are outsiders, at 6/4 with Blue Sq and 13/8 with WH.

Wednesday and Thursday are set to be good days that should see full play, with Weds 14oC and sunny intervals and Thurs 12oC and cloudy, but dry. Then comes the rain, as both Friday and Saturday are looking dodgy and play looks set to be lost in this time.

Mal Loye - I would go for James Anderson, but Loye is exciting to watch and a dangerous customer and unlucky never to earn some sort of England call.
