Mark Butcher awarded Mohammad Akram with his Surrey cap during the interval of the pro40 match against Yorkshire. Akram, a former Pakistan international, was signed from Sussex in 2004.

Akram, a former Pakistan international, was signed from Sussex in 2004 and took 34 wickets in the County Championship last season. This season he has taken 33 wickets at an average of 35.69.
