March 30 2004
Work has finally began at the Oval. The construction worker's have moved in on the old Vauxhall End and have completly demolished it.
A few weeks ago redevelopment began on the old Vauxhall End at the Brit Oval. The site has been completly shattered. The ground is ment to be fit and ready for the Ashes series in 2005. The new stand will provide the Brit Oval with 4000 more seats and excellent hospatality. The roof will be made out of glass so that more light will be allowed through.
There is also a rumour going around that the old score boared will be knoked down and will be replaced by a modern high tec one. The site currently looks like it has had a bombe droped on it but it should be ok for the new season to proggress. The stand will be three tiers high and with a media center on top. The views are set to be a lot like the Bedser stand. There will be more updates throughout the year along with photos.
So the people at the Brit Oval have confirmed that it will be ready in time for the ahses series in 2005. Lets hope so any way
