Another Away Day Success

Some bloke won the men's singles at Wimbledon and some team won the football World Cup, but for us Tykes the sporting highlight was this hard-fought triumph. Peculiarly, in a high-scoring match, nobody got beyond forty runs in their innings. Even our nemesis Ross Whiteley could 'only' make do with 37 runs. To their credit, all five Yorkshire bowlers did reasonably well. None were hit out of the ground. In the end however what separated both protagonists was that while the Vikings hit fifteen runs off their final over, the Rapids could only amass fourteen runs from the final two. The visitors continue to make progress, but seem just as liable to choke later in the competition as they have done in many other limited overs tournaments in recent years.
