Onions replace Gough in England squad
By Jon Steer September 5 2006
Graham Onions has been named as replacement for the injured Darren Gough in England's squad against Pakistan. Gough has been ruled out with a back problem which has handed Onions a chance to show why he was named in the provisional Champions Trophy squad last month.
Onions will be hoping that he will play a part in one of the remaining fixtures of the Pakistan tour in order to push his case for inclusion in the final 14 man squad for the champions trophy.

Onions has only played in three one day games this season and took his first one day wickets in Durham's defeat to Worcestershire on Sunday where his five overs cost an expensive 38 runs.

Onions is the fourth Durham player to be named in an England squad this season with the trio of Harmison, Collingwood and Plunkett already having represented their country in the one-day and test arenas.
