Paul Collingwood celebrates his 100th ODI

Colly celebrates
By Jon Steer September 11 2006
Paul Collingwood celebrated his 100th ODI appearance by taking two wickets including that of Pakistan captain and one day record cap holder Inzammum-ul-Haq. Colly also took his 50th ODI wicket and scored 22 runs helping England to a series levelling victory at Edgbaston.
Paul Collingwood moved ahead of Andrew Flintoff to 10th place in the list of most ODI appearances for England. The only current player ahead of him is Marcus Trescothick with 123. With Colly looking set to be selected for a busy winter including the champions trophy, Ashes tour and the world cup he could soon see himself much higher in the all time list.

It was a memorable match for Collingwood, he trapped Inzammum-ul-Haq lbw for just 2, the Pakistan Captain holds the world record for ODI appearances with 367. Soon afterwards Colly took the wicked of Abdul Razzaq to record his 50th ODI wicket.

Colly is not a stranger to record holding himself - he is the only player to have ever scored a century and taken six wickets in the same one day international, a feat accomplished last year against Bangladesh. His batting that day also saw him score the third fastest century for England and his highest ODI score of 112 not out.

Colly averages 32 with the bat from his 89 innings including two centuries and 12 half-centuries. His 50 wickets have included just the one five wicket haul and two four wicket hauls at an average of 38 and an economy rate of 5.
