Pratt replaced by Gary Scott for Kent match

Gary Scott
By Jon Steer June 12 2006
Gary Pratt pays the price for a poor start to the season by being replaced by Gary Scott who impressed against Oxford UCCE two weeks ago. Scott scored 90 and 133 in his two innings at the Parks.
Durham have also included another player who impressed in Oxford, Moneeb Iqbal, in the squad for the Kent match but he seems unlikely to make his championship debut.

Gary Scott is now 21 years old and made his first class debut for Durham in 2001 and has played a total of nine first class matches so far. Scott opened for Durham against Oxford UCCE and can also bowl off spin but is yet to take a first class wicket.

Durham captain Dale Benkenstein had hinted that changes would be made to the batting line up in the wake of the disappointing result at Edgbaston last week which saw Durham collapse when in sight of a what looked like a fairly straight forward victory.

The Kent match will be played at Stockton which last season saw Durham win an exciting match against Somerset on their way to finishing second in division two of the County Championship.

Scott played all seven of Durham's Twenty20 games last season scoring a total of 52 runs and taking seven wickets.
