Carols by Candlelight

By Ben Horne
November 17 2006

The CHASE Ben Holliokae fund will be holding carol concert in memory of former Surrey cricket player Ben Hollioake, who was killed in a road accident in 2002. The following is a message sent from Catherine Loveless.

To close the events of 2006, we are once again organising Carols by Candlelight in association with Surrey CCC.

It was such a warm event and we got such good feedback that we have decided to hold another one as we felt it was the perfect opportunity to celebrate Christmas and the memory of Ben.

This year, the carol concert will be held on Monday December 4th at St Marks Church, opposite the Oval tube station. We have guest speakers including Founder of the Bunbury Cricket Club, David English MBE and Surrey CCC Chief Exec, Paul Sheldon. Dulwich College Chapel Choir will be performing again and are exquisite and Mark Butcher, Surrey CCC Captain will also be playing the song he wrote in memory of Ben.

Following the carol concert there is then a mulled wine and mince pie reception in the Long Room of the Brit Oval, with live entertainment, Santa Girls selling raffle tickets and Father Christmas will also be making an appearance so please feel free to bring the family.

We would love you to come along and join us for this lovely evening. Tickets are 5 for adults and a donation for children under the age of 16. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Catherine.loveless@chasecare.org.uk or calling 01483 447752.
