Bichel Signs!
By Ben Woodall
February 13 2004
Worcestershire have today confirmed that Australian all-rounder Andy Bichel will return to the county for the start of the 2004 county season.

After this week's announcement that Nantie Hayward has left Worcestershire,it was more a case of when rather than if concerning Andy Bichel's return to New Road.

The Aussie, speaking to WCCC's official website ( www.wccc.co.uk) said "When the opportunity arose to return to Worcestershire, it didn’t take long for my family and myself to make the decision. We all thoroughly enjoyed our previous spell in Worcestershire and hoped we would be able to return at some stage in the future. The team is certainly stronger now and I look forward to playing my part in securing more success for the Club."

The signing of Bichel is one that will surely go down well with the New Road faithful as Bichel has shown time and time again that he is a superb all round cricketer, both on the county and international stages. His return of 102 first class wickets in his previous stint is testament to this and many will hope he can repeat those efforts this season.

Although criticised from some quarters during Australia's recent ODI series,Bichel's talent is undoubted and a return to his old stomping ground will hopefully coincide with a return to form for trusty 'Bich.
