Another Home Setback

By Gary Watton
May 20 2018

Yorkshire's home discomforts reappeared again, as the county's first eleven typically followed a great triumph on Friday with a not so great performance on Sunday. Pujara was amongst the runs once more - which is encouraging. Kohler-Cadmore and Lyth made a fine start, adding eighty for the first wicket, but the inexperienced Brook and Leaning criminally failed to build upon this solid foundation.

Warwickshire for their part are a Jekyll and Hyde. They are frequently a punch bag in the County Championship, but appear to be an altogether different beast in limited overs cricket. Today Tim Ambrose took a whopping five catches, Sam Hain compiled a match-winning century, while Jeetan Patel completely eclipsed the mediocre Adil Rashid with an exceptional spell of bowling.

For the hosts, their one-day campaign could potentially be a case of one step forward and one step back.
