On a day that the threat of bankruptcy was averted, Yorkshire's confidence
will have been boosted even further ahead of Saturday's C&G Trophy final.
Matt Elliott scored his second half-century of the match as the Tykes chased
down 151 for their second win of the season.
It was not enough to lift Yorkshire off the bottom of the ladder, but they can
still entertain hopes of survival with two matches to be played.
Earlier, Richard Dawson led the way with five wickets as Hampshire were
dismissed for 161, having resumed play on 91 for six.
Will Kendall fell to the off-spinner with just one run added, and Nic Pothas to
the same bowler soon after to leave the hosts on 102 for eight.
Dimitri Mascarenhas (32 not out) and Shaun Udal added 38 for the ninth wicket
before Dawson trapped the latter in front of his stumps.
Mascarenhas carried on with James Tomlinson to put on 21 for the last wicket,
ensuring Yorkshire's task would be tricky if not uncomfortable.
Chris Taylor fell to Mascarenhas early on, but Vic Craven and Elliott batted
beautifully together to take the score along to 120 for one.
Craven struck nine fours and two sixes to make 72 until Shaun Udal struck.
And though Anthony McGrath fell eight runs later, Elliott hit an unbeaten 52 to
guide Yorkshire to a sorely-needed win.
