Next 50 over pre season friendly is tomorrow v Essex.

Head Coach, Jason Kerr has named the following squad of 12 for the match:

Tom Abell, Tom Banton, Dom Bess, Josh Davey, Steve Davies, Ben Green, Lewis Gregory, James Hildreth, Jack Leach, Craig Overton, Peter Trego and Paul van Meekeren.

No Jamie Overton again? Not featured/featuring in either game so far and seen no updates from club as to whether he’s injured. Anyone heard anything?

Sorry to hear of Jove's absence, but that looks like a pretty good side.

Tom interviewed by Marcus:
Bit pedestrian in the middle but the end bit is well worth waiting for!

3 dayer v Warwickshire started today.
Today Warwicks to bat 70 overs we bat 20 overs.
Match total will see each team bat for 135 overs each.
Warwicks today 161ao inside 70 overs so having another go!
We used all 7 of our main seamers and Jack so a real 15 a side friendly match.
Only 11 will bat though.....

Tuesday v Cardiff UCCE is first class 11 a side.

Tom Dom Peter all missing as with MCC v Surrey.

Azhar all set for some March Taunton red ball practice, i bet he can not wait!

If the pitch being prepared yesterday is for Tuesday it is very much Caddick pavilion side.

Not much room for mixing team up now.
Majority of the Kent team surely will be playing in these 2 games.

Top 8 set in stone i'd assume.....

Marcus Eddie Azhar James Tom Steven Lewis Craig

Then its 3 from lots!

Can we go in with no spinner?

If not Leachy plays and its 2 more from Jamie Jack Josh Tim.

Only 14 days to go.....

Is the Tom in your top 8 the same Tom who is with MCC? If so, maybe George Bartlett plays?

Ben Green is worth a shout at opening. Do we need Tresothick for this fixture?

One of the really good things about this pre season abroad has been the presence of Marcus which -cricket aside- is such a confidence boost for the gent.

Yes the Tom in my top.8 is Abell.
That top 8 was my Kent top 8.
So yes George no doubt will come in Tuesday.
It appears Eddie is back as the preferred opener choice over Green & Banton.
Azhar is in the air en route to TA1 as i type, grrat news he is doing both pre season games.
14 day forecast looks fair so seems we should get our intending grass time in readiness for Apr5.

Is it good for the Kent game? I'm getting my first Easter break in 8 years so it would be good to get at least the first game of the season in.
