Unbeaten Somerset keep the same 13-man squad for the fourth Royal London Cup match running, against neighbours Glo`shire at Bristol`s Brightside Ground tomorrow (11am).

Jack Brooks and Dom Bess join the 11 who beat Essex under D/L yesterday.

Glo`shire, beaten by 71 runs at Hampshire, also keep the same 13-man squad - the 11 who played yesterday, plus seamer Matt Taylor and batsman Miles Hammond. Overseas player Daniel Worrall and batter Ian Cockbain have still not recovered from injuries

Choosing to bat then. Looks a bit overcast and cool. Bet that's coz it's still April! Sharp me.

Not much enthusiasm from the locals for this one low crowd and only one food outlet. Plenty of beer stops though. Oh and you can't see any scoreboard from parts of the seating

Slow start from us, glous bowling tightly

A slow wicket at Glos? Imagine my shock.

Slow sort of sums up the whole piece and the dreary weather caps it off.

There was very nearly a boundary then

No wonder the crowd is low at Bristol. Slow wicket, dibbly dobblers.
Boring.

They’ve been doing it for years against us - only way they have a chance of winning

Just the third boundary comes along in the 37th over!
Just hope our quicker bowling doesn't give them the ball speed to score more boundaries.

This is bloody turgid....... 10 overs to go and 44 runs from a 200 total. Lord defend us from slow one day pitches.

Tip and run is always a great watch

Re: Always Look on the Brightside
Grockle 28 April, 2019 12:43
Well as long as it isn't 'tip and run out'. 200 up at about 4 an over. Whoopppeeeddoooo!

I thought they did is very well and a few lusty blows. We have to bowl up to normal standard, that should be enough. Tom A to bowl a few me thinks

geordie moonraker 28 April, 2019 13:25
We are going to have to bowl exceptionally well

Re: Always Look on the Brightside
Tumbles 28 April, 2019 13:33
This is where the whole pitch thing should be on a level par - if you get fine/points for a dodgy wicket it should include absolute rubbish like this or 600/2 type flat pancakes. Nobody wants to see this sort of cricket.

We are gradually stangling them. Great catch from RVdM

Hampshire match looks interesting.

Essex 341-6 (50.0) Hampshire 124-4 (23.5)
Hampshire need 218 runs to win from 26.1 overs

Re: Always Look on the Brightside
hantssabre 28 April, 2019 16:07
Hampshire 5 down now so think they will be losing their 100% record

Re: Always Look on the Brightside
Tumbles 28 April, 2019 16:17
We need Taylor out otherwise we’ve lost this

Hold your nerve Tumbles

Re: Always Look on the Brightside
Tumbles 28 April, 2019 16:36
What an awful stream by the way - scorecard ahead of video which is ahead of the comms.

Come on Somerset, Hampshire are now 7 down.

Re: Always Look on the Brightside

This is the over that may cost us

Re: Always Look on the Brightside
hantssabre 28 April, 2019 16:52
Rossouw out now so Hampshire have virtually lost

Bob Hunt must be the most annoying commentator!

Not TG's finest ever bowling performance. At the start of the penultimate over we were still in the game.

He’s got the mentality of a supporter of a club down the road who see games like this as cup finals. Trying to justify the wicket as a great game. It’s like watching a Tony Pulis side play football.

Re: Always Look on the Brightside
hantssabre 28 April, 2019 17:06
At least Hampshire look like they are going to lose by about 100 runs so nota bad game to lose in the circumstances

Re: Always Look on the Brightside
Nailsea_Fizz 28 April, 2019 17:08
Oh well never mind can't win them all. Glad to be leaving the ground of doom yet another unsuccessful visit for me. Still on to the next one

Hunt lost all my respect when he gratuitously referred to Bartett as a "posh boy". If it was humour, what was the joke? His inane laughter only added to my disdain. I hope we shan't have to listen to him again this season.
