Blast! The Bristolians Part 2
Grockle 15 August, 2019 09:30
A couple of very important games against the Boyz from Bristol coming up with important consequences in front of sell out crowds.

Hope next year's ' Hundred' saves us from this disaster and revitalises local white ball cricket!! (TiC)

What are you trying to say?

Re: Blast! The Bristolians
cricketharris 15 August, 2019 18:32
One point each and a very large reduction in bar income tomorrow, I reckon.

Full refunds for all the one time charlie ticket purchasers.

Yet nothing at all for loyal committed ever present members.
£175 minimum for a 7 match T20 membership?
So £25 lost, tough luck members.

No refund for members when CC games last only two days. Disgrace this club.

Re: Blast! The Bristolians

Was a TIC comment.
Membership is very clear.
You get a cheaper overall rate & various other benefits but it's very clear you get no refunds for any lost days play. The choice you take.

Same for the very occasional bad day we may have.
Nobody forces us to be members or chose to attend matches!

This is one of the reasons why myself and other friends no longer purchase memberships

Don't get me started on the fact nobody sorted out later trains when the T20's are on a Saturday . . .

Re: Blast! The Bristolians
cricketharris 16 August, 2019 11:46
And who should sort-out late trains? And to where? All directions? I don’t think that is the clubs responsibility and the railway companies certainly aren’t going to do it - even if they were nationalised.

Re: Blast! The Bristolians
Grockle 16 August, 2019 16:01
Miserable in West Somerset at 4pm. The forecast suggests little hope of play for 7pm.

Glo`shire have signed Yorkshire sealer Josh Shaw on loan again until the end of the season, and then on a permanent three-year contract.

Match abandoned.

Glad I turned around at Yeovil, but sad for the two matches I have been able to help at, the first I retired hurt (sick) and this one. Hopefully I’ll be able to help next season.

That make four so far.

My boy reports weather revolting in Dublin. Think that is heading our way so probably a good decision. Point each. Nothing really changes does it?

Glo`shire have signed their third loan player in four days - Essex 19-year-old seamer Ben Allison.

He moves to the county for a month and along with fellow loanees Zaz Chappell (Leicestershire) and Josh Shaw (Yorkshire) is available for the T20 match with Somerset at Bristol on August 23.

Next Friday is crucial now.

Win and we're as good as through.
Glos will only have 2 left v Kent & Sussex.

Lose & its 3pts behind with 3 left so would possibly/probably need to win all 3.

Forecast in general looks clear for next 7 days.

Michael Klinger will be playing his last ever home match for Glo`shire at Bristol tomorrow. A special presentation is planned at the toss. Trust he will still be emotional when he comes out to bat.

Seriously LoL - well (obviously) not seriously, frivolously but also genuinely - I think that's a really nice idea.

Hampshire and Essex win tonight making the group even tighter.

Loyal of Lhasa 22 August, 2019 22:21
... actually making it easier for Somerset to top the table!

Re: Blast! The Bristolians Part 2

Huge huge game today.
Given table & remaining fixtures then for me win tonight & we are 90% through.
We'd be a point ahead with a game in hand.
Home tomorrow v the wooden spooners.
Whilst Glos have 2 top teams to play only.

Lose however and 3pts behind so very likely we'd need to win all 3 remaining unless Glos were to lose both.
Losing may also bring Hamps & Essex back into it slightly.

Recent T20 Glos record is.....
Glos 5
Som 1
Rain 1

Roll on 6.30 for us lucky (or not given its at Bristol) to be going 👍👍

The treble is still on......

Of course it is the clubs responsibility
As an example Bristol Sport liaised with GWR and additional and later trains now run for all Bristol City and Bears matches

This is just one example where Somerset are light years behind other sporting clubs. . .

Loan signing Zak Chappell has been recalled by Nottinghamshire, where he is the highest paid of their mercenary signings from other Midlands counties, so is unavailable for Glo`shire at Bristol tonight.

Another loan signing Josh Shaw, who will join Glo`shire permanently from Yorkshire next season, is in the 13-strong squad:

Klinger, Hammond, Bracey, Cockbain, Higgins, Taylor, van Buuren, Tye,, Smith, Payne, Liddle, Dent, Shaw.

You seriously think SCCC can have any influence over the national rail timetable for 2 or 3 games a year!?
