Apologies for negativity but I'll be glued to the Warwickshire live feed today and won't be paying much attention to our scorecard as I simply don't believe we'll be able to bat for anywhere near long enough to save the game. I'd be more than pleasantly surprised to be proved wrong. My hopes rest on 9 wickets falling at Edgbaston and survival by the skin of someone else's teeth.
Last week I was at the Kia Oval for selected days of the Surrey versus Somerset match and Mister Leach bowled 18.5 overs and took zero wickets. And no he didn't open the bowling. Speaks volumes for this Taunton graveyard track...
Looking at this stage that Hampshire will save themselves. We totally failed at our attempt to do so, can't complain if relegated. Please let this be the last time Voges and Compton play for us and Mr Franklin enough is enough too. And before Chunky says they have a year left on their contract, retire or pay them off.
A friend reliably informs me that it is 'turning square,' at Edgbaston so, surely to goodness Patel should be able to do the honours?
I think your guys will be very unfortunate should you go down, both due to the nonsense with the criminal at the Oval and due to the fiasco at Uxbridge - Hants were extremely fortunate that that game was rain/wet outfield-ruined as they would surely have lost badly with the side that they had selected.
