My start here worse than Middlesex. I’m languishing in 18th place out of 20. I predicted we would win both games with Gubbins and TRJ . For Essex I’m still sticking with TRJ and hope if selected Moggie will come good.

Re: Cricket prediction league
Jonathan Winsky 30 April, 2019 20:53
I am delighted to have finished April as top of the table in not only the MTWD league, but overall too. I believe that this means that I will receive a signed Middlesex shirt, although I am yet to be contacted by anyone about this.

I have selected Nathan Sowter as my bowler on a few occasions during our Royal London Cup campaign, not least due to the fact I feel more certain that he will play in each match than I feel about our fast bowlers. It is advisable to select players you feel confident will play in the particular match, as someone who plays but doesn't do much in the match is more likely to earn points than someone who doesn’t play, something which applies to batsmen in particular. For tomorrow's match v Somerset at Radlett, 19% of predictors have selected Dawid Malan as their batsman and 21% have selected Tim Murtagh as their bowler, so unless they change their prediction, they will be missing out on points. I think that it is possible to change a prediction between the toss and the start of play, so at least everyone has a small window of opportunity to make a change once they have seen our line-up and if they have access to the their account during this period.

Not only has Sowter played every RLC match so far, but he has taken 15 wickets. However, it gets boring if I select the same players every time, so my bowler for tomorrow is James Harris, despite the fact he hasn't actually played in this campaign. Hopefully I won't regret selecting him!

No update after yesterday’s game on predictor game. Normally it updates pretty much straight after

Why are being asked to predict a womans game???

Is it just me, or have the scores from the Leics game not been added?

I'm also waiting on a number of "trophies" which I've won, but haven't been awarded. I know this is incredibly sad as the trophies are meaningless, but much like Van Halen and their bowl of M&Ms, this is the sort of small thing which shows whether or not the people in charge actually know what they're doing.

They havent been added but dont complain or a board member will tell you off

They've been updated now...sadly!

I chose AB as my batsman v Essex but I have been awarded NIL POINTS!! I didn't think he got a duck tonight. Anybody else have the same problem?

It often takes a while to update. Having said that, I don't know if they're always totally on the ball.

It's now been corrected.

Congratulations to Jonathan on his victory in this game! He's been top of the league for a very long time now. I look forward to seeing him in next year's team photo (come to think of it, can he open the batting too??)

Despite a good early showing, my team slipped down the league during the T20 competition, and I eventually recovered to finish 4th - honourable but meaningless!

I should add that three of the overall top four were also members of the MTWD league, which would suggest that at least a few of us on this board know what we're talking about. That's a relief.

Congratulations JW. Now you can spend the winter months sorting out Watford.

Congratulations to JW

Not sure the ' trophies ' section worked. e.g. I didn't get the quacker trophy despite choosing Mala at Old Trafford, or the nervous 90s one for Robbo this week.
That said I felt that feature was pretty futile.

Me neither, but yes - the trophies were a redundant feature. The little videos of the players congratulating you for each trophy were absolutely cringeworthy. They looked like they were being forced to read off the autocue at gunpoint, and none of them are going to win an Emmy any time soon for being natural and relaxed on camera.

Congratulations JW, you are a worthy winner.

In fact MTWD had the top 4. I will own up to being St Jude's Xl and Duck Worthless Xl was friend of the site 'ammersmith Les.
