A curate's egg sums it up. It confirmed what was already known. Batting a weak suite. The bowling stronger. Pace orientated for a long time now bolstered by the emergence of potential spin. This art, much derided when T20 started back in 2003, is now recognised as an important attack weapon in the middle overs and powerplay as both sides demonstrated at the Ageus yesterday.

Amusingly, after taking 4-0-25-2, with one ball remaining as he emerged with a boundary needed to win. Tom Smith emerged to tonk the four. This ousted Somerset with Glaws making the qf. Smith was elbowed by Scott ten years ago. One of many shrewd judgements from that era. Elsewhere Leics qualified. Well done to them. Northants provide Stirlo and Rosso a final chance.

I see Ryan Higgins enjoyed his season. Average of 59.88 and 4 centuries and 3 half centuries. And that fellow Tom Lace, average of 43.33 and 3 centuries.
Never mind at least Paul Stirling and David Malan are waving the flag for Middlesex batting at numbers 11 and 14 in the league two averages.
What? No. Really?

I've no idea where you got those averages from.

Last season maybe.

Higgins had an okay season (but averaged under 25 with the bat) and Lace only averaged 18.25

Not a like for like comparison chunky. County championship versus truncated BWT. Higgo a good signing for them. Early days for Scott and Lace

Here are the full BWT averages (for some reason best known to crickinfo players are listed in alphabetical order, rather than best average, although I suppose it makes it easier if you are looking for individual players-
