If memory serves me right, Hughes was occasionally Spamhead, but mostly Yosser.

Not one of your better ideas, Janet. I shan't go in to the myriad of reasons......

Any "Stokies" reading your original message would go nuts Janet,it's Stoke City FC , not Stoke FC.They are a local league team just outside Slough!

As for the nickname ,nuff said by Ged.

Go easy chaps,Janet just trying to be helpful.I think it's a splendid idea and Janet should suggest it to Richo the next time she acosts him round the back of the pavilion.

Could we call Joyce "Portrait of the artist as a young man ?"
Take it away Turkeys...

Nora after his splendidly named squeeze Nora Barnacle would be my more considered shout...

Glossary piece updated once again - many thanks to all of you for your help.

We really are hitting against size limits now, so any brilliant new ideas will need to replace old ideas rather than add to them.

Keep the ideas coming, but please note that the editor is using triage.

This feature is proving to be the most popular single feature we have published for a long time, folks, so many thanks to all of you for your contributions.

In the light of more recent events, not least our amazing Twenty20 Cup victory, perhaps some of our players need revised nicknames.

Given the revelations about his musical ability and also the injury problem he's had this season, I'd suggest, for Dirk Nannes, "The Hipster".

And perhaps Dawid Malan would be happy to be known as "The Throw" for a while.

I'm sure some of you will have better suggestions than my 6.00 a.m. efforts.
