I'm in a double world Farmer.

I quarantine in UK time but I work in Bermudian time so as I had a '4pm' staff meeting which went on until '5'. I didn't really get to sorting this out until '7-ish' and by that time it was midnight-ish.

Until the end of June such is my life

Yes, you could argue the PC likes big scores, or it uses the data to produce what SHOULD happen.

Last season there was more than one occasion when we were saying - why oh why are batsmen of such potential doing so poorly.

Noticeably, Steve Davies is living up to his CC1 potential in this scenario.

I hate to say it but there is also not the situation of Marcus going early and putting the front end under pressure. Carberry and Ali are not going early usually (I mean within 5 or 6 overs) and Byrom and Bartlett have done their jobs in that top 3.

You should be happy in this game as your predicted move of the skipper worked - thank heavens.

Maybe we are just doing what ought to be done and the PC is more optimistic about those changes.

I think the higher predictabilities that I am noticing are;
a) Don't get into the 90's just before an interval
b) Expect wicket keeping errors to give you at least 8 leg byes an innings
c) Caught and Bowled is far more likely than usual
d) Don't hope for rain to save you

As Mikeindex pointed out, this could be the season we all fantasise about, where things go the way we always hope - but it is ONLY game 7 and we haven't got anywhere near winning it yet.
It has been a long time since i have experienced a game where batsmen have been producing runs in batches - hence scores over 400 rather than on e decent score, some individual little bits and scores about 250.

The bowlers are bowling to form..... the bigger scores make wins more likely as they have first innings scores to bowl AT

All these things could, of course change.

The only thing I would like to say it that I am doing nothing to influence play.

The only aspects I have control over are;
a) the toss and decisions at it (win and bat presently seems to work)
b) bowling changes
c) the level of aggression of batsmen as they get settled
d) declaration decisions if they are required - though I do tend to ask for guidance if I can on that one.

So the PC is running this season based on data I assume.
