In an unusual role reversal, this cricket fan will be supporting Pakistan’s cricket team full tilt in their upcoming Test match against South Africa. 

Why the sudden bhai-chara?  Does it have to do with supporting the underdog? sub-continental solidarity? Naah!

The reason is simple.  It is because if Pakistan do manage to upset the Proteas, the South African side will drop a whopping 6 points on the ICC Test Ranking Table.  Heck if Pakistan hold Greame Smith's team to a draw the Saffies will still lose 3 points.  And the icing on the cake is even if South Africa win they will not gain any points.

But every silver lining has a dark cloud.  And the dark clouds are not just in the air above Nagpur, but also in the fate of the Indian team, who are guaranteed to lose 1 point even if they end up winning at Jamtah.  If they manage to pull off another draw, the punishment will be a drop of 4 points and if God forbid they lose, then they too will sink by 6 points.

So here is to Misbah and his boys.  Go Pakistan! 

As for Dhoni and his men, sharam karo, aur jeet kar dikhao.

Both India and South Africa have struggled in their performances against weaker teams NZ and Pak respectively. Not a great build up to their 'title' clash next month in SA.

hear hear IWW, I want Pak to be defeated in everything.

But never fear, even if Saffies choke all the way to the brink of losing, the match fixers will come to their rescue and Pak will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. With a big grin on their faces and a chunk of change in their pockets.

And they have held the No. 2 side to a 0-0 draw... knockig SA back by 3 points...

So no way can SA gain No. 1 spot against India even if India lose 0-3..(which ain't happening)....
