Replacement Cricketers

The West Indies Cricket Board's abrupt pull out from their tour of India resulted in the BCCI not only going after the BCCI for compensation to the tune of 400+ crore Rupees....but also arranging for a hastily put together tour by BCCI's permanent back up opponents the ever obliging Sri Lankans.  Must be nice to have a stand-by date for every engagment you make. Though one must wonder what is the harm in the Indian team not playing international matches for a while.  It would give the Domestic game a much needed boost.  But the BCCI is all about the money, so such thinking never occurs to them. M.S. Dhoni meanwhile exercises his perogative as Alpha Dog to "rest" for the first three games of the series, with the option to return to accept the cup, in case India are in a position to win the series.  Also with his deputy, Kohli's recent nightmare form he is in no danger of Virat usurping his spot.  So nice chance for Dhoni to spend some time relaxing or more likely raking in the $$$ shooting a ton of commercials.   Anyway here are the squads the BCCI have picked so far:

India 'A' team for a One Day practice match against Sri Lanka, to be played at CCI, Mumbai on 30th October 2014

Team for practice match vs SL : Team for practice match vs SL : Manoj Tiwary (Captain), Unmukt Chand, Manan Vohra, Karun Nair, Rohit Sharma, Kedar Jadhav, Sanju Samson, Perveez Rasool, Karn Sharma, Stuart Binny, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jasprit Bumrah, Manish Pandey, Kuldeep Yadav

Indian team for first 3 ODIs out of the 5 ODI series of the Micromax Cup.

It was a farce of an ODI series against SL. And to top it off, we saw the usual flat tracks and even a world record double hundred.

The worst kind of preparation before a Test tour of Australia. The players would have been much better off playing in domestic cricket matches during this time.

Max, it was never about players . It was about recovering lost money.
