Rain ends Nottinghamshire victory hopes

Rain prevented Nottinghamshire from wrapping up their eighth Frizzell County Championship Division Two victory of the season against Durham at Trent Bridge.

Victory would have moved the hosts up to second in the table but the draw leaves them in fourth place, just 0.25 points behind third-placed Worcestershire.

Durham finished the third day on 153 for five in their second innings as they followed on and still trailed by 115 runs, but rain prevented Jason Gallian's side from wrapping up the win as not a ball was bowled on the final day.

Nottinghamshire took 12 points and Durham 5.75.
