Trescothick was unbeaten on 108 when England clinched the NatWest Challenge series with a four-wicket win at Lord's.

England passed Pakistan's 229 for seven with just nine balls to spare, with Chris Read on 25 not out.

"The way Tres played was fantastic, as was the way Chris Read played at the end," said Vaughan.

"His (Trescothick's) knock at The Oval was superb but I thought this one was pretty special because it saw us all the way home.

"Obviously we have come out victorious and we have learned a lot. We made a few mistakes today but we hope to put those right for the NatWest Triangular Series."

Vaughan added on Sky Sports: "It's great to pick up a trophy and to beat a very experienced Pakistan team."
