Kallis hit five fours and one six in an unruffled 105-ball innings which shut out the hosts.

South Africa surpassed a target of 223 for seven with almost three overs to spare, thanks largely to an unbroken fourth-wicket stand of 145 between Kallis and Jacques Rudolph (71not out).

The two Jacques coasted home under lights after England had been restricted to a slightly under-par total on a good pitch, despite hard-working half-centuries from Marcus Trescothick (60) and Anthony McGrath (52) who combined for a third-wicket stand of 114.
