Lord's Is Last Chance Saloon For Crawley

31-year old John Crawley will walk out for England at Lord's on Thursday knowing that his test career hangs in the balance.

Since making his international debut against South Africa in 1994, Crawley has managed only 30 matches for his country, scoring 1401 runs at a below-average 32.58.

So prolific in county cricket, Crawley is not unlike Graeme Hick, in that it is unbelievable that he has not been far more successful on the world stage.

This season, Crawley averages 67.70 for his county Hampshire, with a century and five half-centuries to his name, and so he could be in little better form going in to the first test against the Indians on Thursday.
