Gough To Miss Second Test

Darren Gough has been ruled out of the second Test against India at Trent Bridge.

The Yorkshire pace bowler was forced out of the opening Test at Lord's, on Monday when he suffered pain and stiffness in his right knee during the Roses match at Headingley.

He has been advised to rest for two weeks after visiting a specialist in Sheffield on Tuesday.

It is hoped that the designated fortnight will be enough time for the inflammation to subside.

He will see the specialist again at the end of that period for a further re-assessment of the injury and it is hoped that he will be given the all-clear to resume training thereafter.
