De Gea to return for Chelsea clash

Sir Alex Ferguson will recall David De Gea to his starting XI for Sunday's Premier League clash against Chelsea. Anders Lindegaard's impressive display against Benfica sparked rumours that the United manager would drop De Gea from his league line-up, but De Gea will start the game against the West London outfit.

Sir Alex reacted angrily to suggestions from ITV journalist Kelly Cates that De Gea would not feature against Chelsea.

The United boss said: "David de Gea will play on Sunday,

"I don't know why you ask these questions. You're just looking for stupid, little things."

Lindegaard put in an impressive 90-minute shift against Benfica and helped United to a point with two crucial late saves.

De Gea, meanwhile, has yet to win over many sceptical pundits after a handful of errors in his first few games at United.

However, the Spaniard has claimed clean sheets against Spurs and Bolton Wanderers this season - and saved a penalty in the 8-2 drubbing of Arsenal at Old Trafford.

The youngster will get another chance to impress on Sunday as United lock horns with fellow league title hopefuls Chelsea at the Theatre of Dreams.

i think its important to sick with de gea right now. if he is dropped his confidence wil take a huge hit and will take an age to get him back up. there have been some mistkes but nothing major that would have been highlighted as it has been if he wasnt young and cost so much.

i do accept that if the errors become more frequent and costly to us losing important games then a decision will have to be made at that point.

i used to watch de gea for athletica and it was a sililar case there, he would make 4-5 world class saves and then a mistake would creep in. he is young and with experience the small decisions that he is getting wrong will leave his game im sure
