Ex-Imp Simon Yeo could have well and truly shot himself in the foot after the Imps blocked a potential move to Peterborough. Keith Alexander has been trying to turn the Posh into a nostalgic version of the Imps but it appears likely he will not get to call upon the services of Boro.

When Keith Alexander quit Sincil Bank over a month ago, the Imps put a clause into his contract termination agreement meaning that Keith Alexander couldn't sign anyone who was under contract at Sincil Bank when he left without Lincoln's permission. It came of little surprise when just a few days after leaving Sincil Bank, he turned up at Peterborough, a move which many believe has been planned since the events of January.

Keith has already signed former Imp Jude Stirling to a contract at Peterborough despite him being under contract when he left. City allowed this transfer to go through but City have now officially blocked the move for Yeo. The former striker left Sincil Bank last week after claiming he wasn't getting enough money on a new contract, despite saying he was happy with it just a few weeks previous and that attitude has left few at Sincil Bank willing to help him.

Yeo played in Peterborough's 4-0 win over Sligo and even scored twice but he may never get the chance to do so in the league. It could mean an end to Simon Yeo's stay in the football league as the only other club interested in the striker was Stockport and they were far from happy with the player's attitude. With Peterborough now the only club seemingly interested in signing Yeo, it could mean that should City decide not to allow him to go to Peterborough, could force Yeo into looking at non-league sides.

Wouldn't that be a pity.
